At TP Mechanical, we proudly announce our continued participation in the RED Shirt Friday initiative for 2025—a meaningful campaign to support our nation’s veterans and honor the sacrifices of deployed service members. Starting in February 2024, we introduced a voluntary RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) Shirt Day on the first Friday of each month, and we are excited to carry this tradition forward. To date, we’ve contributed more than $118,121.92 to veteran-focused programs, with 508 people participating!
What is RED Shirt Friday?
The RED Shirt Friday initiative raises awareness and support for veterans and deployed military personnel. By wearing red shirts, participants demonstrate solidarity with those who have served and contribute to veteran-focused programs through financial donations. These programs include:
- Clothing and food drives
- Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS)
- Support for sick or hospitalized veterans
- Military funeral services
- Assistance for homeless veterans
How is TP Mechanical Involved?
Each month, TP employees wear red shirts on the designated Friday. The total number of participants and the hours each shirt is worn are tallied and submitted to an AMVETS representative. This data is then forwarded to the federal government, which donates funds to support veterans.
In July, an AMVETS post from Indiana visited our office. We had coffee and donuts, got to meet them, and explained why we do what we do. They even rode in on their motorcycles, and we got to check out their bikes!
We encourage all employees to join us in this impactful initiative. Together, let’s Remember Everyone Deployed and support the heroes who have given so much for us.
Mark your calendars: The next RED Shirt Day is just around the corner on February 7, 2025!
